INVESTING IN FLORIDA'S NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS
Florida Debate Initiative, in partnership with AT&T, is proud to offer 10 need-based scholarships of $3,000 each to high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited trade or technical school, college, or university after graduation.
Speech and debate builds confident communicators, critical thinkers, and civic leaders. The Florida Debate Initiative Scholarship presented by AT&T celebrates students who have developed those skills and are ready to take them into their next chapter.
Selected recipients will be required to participate in a mandatory scholarship award presentation. Recipients will receive at least two weeks' advance notice of the presentation date, time, and location.

Share your story through the lens of growth, confidence, and achievement. Rather than simply describing the challenges you have faced, show us how you responded to them, found your voice, and grew into a stronger student, leader, and communicator.
You may consider the following questions as you develop your story:
Who were you before speech and debate, and who are you now?
What has speech and debate taught you about your voice, your abilities, or your potential?
How have these skills helped you succeed beyond competition—in school, leadership, your community, or your personal life?
As you prepare for college and the workforce, how will you carry the confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, and resilience you developed through speech and debate into your next chapter?
You do not need to answer every question. Use them as a guide to tell a compelling and authentic story that is uniquely yours.
This is not simply a story about what happened to you. It is a story about what you did with the opportunities, challenges, and experiences placed before you.
Show us the victor in your story and the future you are ready to build.
Your video should be 60-90 seconds long.
